Meeting between ICRP and HERCA representatives

On February 25, 2025, the Heads of European Radiation Protection Competent Authorities (HERCA) and the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) convened an online meeting to discuss advancements in radiological protection.

Both ICRP and HERCA chairs attended the meeting. HERCA presented its recent work, especially the workshop organised in May 2024 that focused on the implementation of the BSS directive in Europe, highlighting the importance of regulatory involvement in refining radiological protection standards.

HERCA recently created a taskforce dedicated to strengthening the cooperation with ICRP in the future. Both organizations reiterated their commitment to maintaining close collaboration to enhance radiological protection across Europe.
